2. Try local Alleppey food
Kerala food is popular around the World and Alleppey is specially known for its fresh water fish dishes. Their “Kappa and Meen Curry” is something you cannot miss. It is basically boiled Tapioca mixed with some spicy fish curry. Another one I would recommend is the “Appam and Duck Roast”. If you drink then you got something really cool to mix up with these dishes. A cup of fresh Coconut Toddy, a local drink made from Coconut trees. Do not worry, it is complete organic and safe to drink. If you are not used to alcoholic drinks, I would say you stop with a glass of Toddy.
3. Sunset at Marari beach
Marari Beach is slowly gaining fame among the travelers. Serene, clean and tranquil, this seaside is a paradise for beach lovers. The best time to visit Marari Beach is during the Sunset. The bluish-orange hues compliment the bluish waters of the Marari Beach. Marari Beach is nearly 20 kms from Alleppey and would take no more than half an hour to reach. So if you happen to be in Alleppey, do note to make a visit to this beautiful shoreline.

5. Try a canoe ride in Alleppey
Canoes are country boats used by the local people of Alleppey for their day to day needs like shopping, going for work, school etc. These are small wooden boats and a ride on it is pretty adventurous. You can paddle your way through narrow canals sandwiched between paddy fields, markets etc. So yes, a Canoe ride in Alleppey is also very much recommended.
